Ed's Bowling FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions for Ed's Bowling.

What is the difference between KingPin and 10 Pin bowling?

KingPin bowling (may also be referred to as Duckpin Bowling) has shorter lanes, smaller balls, and the pins are on strings. 10 Pin bowling is regular sized bowling lanes with larger balls weights from 7-15 lbs that have finger holes. We recommend KingPin bowling for younger children; however, all ages are welcome to bowl on KingPin. Additionally, younger children may still bowl on 10 Pin, and we have accommodations such as bumpers, ramps, and lighter weighted balls available upon request.

How many people can bowl on one lane?

We recommend 5 people per lane for the best chance at all players finishing a game in the allotted hour. KingPin bowling has a maximum of 6 people per lane, and 10 Pin bowling has a maximum of 8 people per lane. On average, each player will take about 10 minutes to finish a single game.

Can I bring personal equipment to Ed's?

We recommend using house balls and equipment; however, you may bring in personal equipment to use at your own risk. Ed’s Bowling is not responsible for any damaged or lost items within our facility. Please request a member of our management team to discuss personal equipment usage prior to purchasing a lane.

When does Ed's Bowling have servers on the lanes?

Servers are available to order from on Friday and Saturday after 5:30 PM, and Sundays after 2:30PM until last call. For service outside those times, please see our bartender in the 300 Club Lounge.

Are minors allowed in the 300 Club Lounge?

Yes, minors are allowed to sit in the 300 Club Lounge.

Are we allowed to take drinks and food to our lanes?

Yes, food and drink ordered directly from Ed's Bowling are allowed anywhere in our facility. We do not allow any outside food or beverage within the facility.

Are there discounted rates for Access 2 pass holders?

We do not provide a specific Access 2 pass holder discount, but we do offer a discounted rate from Monday to Friday (open-5PM) for guests with disabilities. Guest with disability rates are dependent on the day of the week, and are subject to walk-up availability. Please call Ed's Bowling, (780) 481-6420, to inquire about the daily rate.

Does Ed's Bowling have equipment for kids and/or guests with disabilities?

Yes. Special needs bowling equipment such as lighter weight balls (10 Pin only), and ramps are subject to availability, and are provided on a first come, first-serve basis. Bumpers are accessible on all 10 Pin and KingPin lanes (subject to lane breakages). Bumpers are only available for children 12 and under, or guests with disabilities on the condition that no balls above 9 lbs. are in use while the bumpers are active. Please request any required equipment from a counter staff upon arrival.

We always welcome a birthday cake for birthday celebrations; however, any other outside food and beverages are not allowed. Exceptions may be applicable for severe allergies that we are unable to accommodate.

We reserved a lane, but we might be late. Will we lose our reservation?

All lane reservations are provided a 15-minute grace period. Any reservation later than 15 minutes may be subject to a waitlist in which we will accommodate them when we have available lanes. If you are running late, please call Ed’s Bowling, (780) 481-6420, to speak with a counter staff and we will do our best to accommodate within reason.

Will my time start exactly at the time I reserved?

Your lane(s) will start upon check in at the front desk; all lane(s) are provided with an extra 10 minutes to get shoes and find your lane(s). Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your lane start time, as there may be longer than average wait times to check-in at the front desk during peak hours.

Can I extend my reservation the same day?

Reservations for the next time slot may affect your ability to extend on site. We highly suggest reserving additional time 24 hours in advance. Should you miss the deadline to reserve additional time, or lanes, please inform the cashier at check-in that you would like an additional hour, and we will determine on-site if we are able to accommodate. Requests to extend after your time has started are less likely to be accommodated.
